Restorative Body Therapy

Massage Therapy Overview

The Basics

Massage therapy is designed to help alleviate a number of ailments and help in relaxation. A massage can stretch and loosen tense or weak muscles, improve blood flow throughout the body, facilitate the secretion metabolic waste as a result from exercise or a sedentary lifestyle, and increases oxygen flow and nutrients to tissue and cells. Massage services available at Restorative Body Therapy include cranial sacral, injury rehabilitation, myofascial release, shiatsu, and sports massage. Our massage therapists will assess your needs to give you the healthiest massage possible

What to Expect

After checking in at our main appointment area, you will be directed to our waiting area until your therapist calls you. The massage therapist will read your intake form and discuss your individual needs and expectations for the visit. Please be sure to discuss with your therapist any information that you think might be helpful or important during your treatment, such as: surgeries, current stress, medical conditions, or injuries. You will then be left alone to disrobe completely. However, you may choose to leave your underwear on if your are most comfortable this way. You will lie on the massage table, covering yourself with a sheet. The therapist will undrape only the part of the body being massaged, ensuring that your modesty is respected during the entire massage. The massage takes place in a private room on a comfortable padded table. We strive to ensure your privacy and comfort will be maintained at all times. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, physically or emotionally, please let the massage therapist know so the issue can be resolved immediately.
